Only You

"Austin, scoot over you lazy ass." Remy said looking down at Austin as he lay stretched out on the couch. The young man looked up at her; he had morning hair and did not bother to get fully dressed only wearing blue basket ball shorts. "And you don't even wear a shirt. Why do I even bother?" She questions as Austin shrugs his shoulders sitting up grabbing his bag of sour cream and onion Lays. Remy looked at him with her hazel eyes and a blanket over her shoulders keeping the petite woman warm as she sat next to Austin resting her head on his chest.

"Be happy I decided to put shorts on this time." He replied placing a chip in his mouth as he looked at the football game. With the roll of her eyes, Remy takes a chip herself knowing that he was right. If there was anything she knew about Aus; it would be if he could get away with not wearing clothes he would.

"So do you have any intentions of getting up today or are you going to be a bum and stay on Joey's couch?" Remy questioned looking at her boyfriend who shrugged his shoulders eating another chip. "I'll take that as a no then." She said taking away of his big grab bag. Austin's green eyes locked with the bag then with Remy who flashed him a sweet smile.

"I actually have to go to hell aka my job today." Austin said taking the bag out of Remy's hand scooting closer to her making her lean back on the couch as he smirked. Remy matched his with one of her own giving me a small kiss and pointing his nose.

"Well Mr. Lifeguard, you're doing a very bad job." Remy said batting her eyes as the nineteen year old looked at her with his head titled to the side. "You let me get a cramp in my leg yesterday and you did nothing." She said pouting as Austin laughed. "What do you have to say for yourself?" Remy said crossing her shoulders.

"I'd say get a room." A voice said with a laugh making Remy and Austin turn around to see Joey standing at the door dropping his keys on the table. Joey had his long brown hair pulled by back a bandana and wore a Jurassic Park shirt with a pair of blue jeans and DC's. Thinking fast, Remy quickly spoke up.

"We were actually leaving too Joey." She said pushing Austin off her as she stood to her feet fixing her shorts.

"To get a room?" Joey questioned teasingly with a smile making Remy smile back at him.

"Not this time." She responded in the same teasing fashion. "Come on lazy ass time to go play Baywatch." Remy said pulling Austin up who grabbed his chip bag.  Tossing on a pair of shoes, Austin grabbed his house keys.

"Have fun kiddies; don't forget Kev wants to go out tonight." Joey said reminding Austin of his roommates' plans for the night.  

"You got it sleazy one." Austin replied walking out of the two bedroom apartment with Remy.

"I wanna go home, this day blows. I feel like I've been here forever" Austin said hiding his eyes behind his black shades looking out at everyone from the lifeguard house as Remy glanced up at him.

"It's only been an hour." She replied sitting on the railing looking out towards the water.

"I know and it sucks."  Austin replied leaning on the rail looking at the older Remy who would take his shades putting them on looking at him. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but you look better than me in those.

"Duh, it doesn't really take too much work to do that actually. I'm just saying; you're not all that good looking hope ya know that." Rem said turning back towards the water not seeing the push that was coming her way landing down in the sand.

"You're not as cool as you think you are, just saying." Aus said with a smile jumping over the rail landing by Remy who was looking up at him.  

"Oh you've done it now!" Remy said getting up and chasing Austin around the beach. Austin wasted no time taking off ducking under volleyballs, frisbees and footballs almost getting hit a few times. Remy was hot on his tails, the former track star was a finger tip away from Austin before she was tripped up over some kids coming out of the water with a bucket of water putting the woman on her face.

"Haha, you okay?" Austin called out looking behind him still running. As the brunette would turn around he would be put on his ass running into a volleyball net.  "Oww, that's going to leave a mark," Aus said wincing as Remy finally pulled herself up still in hot pursuit. "I'll hurt later." Austin said making it to his feet tripping over a sandcastle as he made a dash for the water.

"Oh no you don't!" Remy yelled out catching up to him, she took a leap and landing on his back. Remy would laugh as Austin would spin them around making them dizzy. "Bad idea"

"I know, I'm regretting this right now." He replied as they would end up towards the water, Remy still on Austin's back clinging on to him like a koala bear. "Had a feeling this would happen actually." Austin said with a slight laugh looking at Remy who had her head on his shoulder.

"Funny you say that, I was just going to say that you did this on purpose too."  The petite woman said still holding on as the cold water hit her back making her shiver slightly.

"Out of the water Gambit?" Remy nodded her head at the gesture always not being one for the beach but somewhere Aus would talk her into going anyways. She was his favorite X-Men and he would be her Aqua man. Austin held her on his back as he slowly walked towards shore, the two being hit by a few waves for their troubles almost knocking them down.

"Bastard" The Canadian murmured as she would be placed down on her feet.   

"Oddly enough, I can't say I see the irony in that. So how much time left do I have to spend at this hell hole?"

"At least six more hours tops." Remy said looking up at Austin who's eyes widen before he goes to pull at his hair before Remy stops him. "Hey that's my job." She smiles up at him as he sucks his teeth.

"You do a good job at it too." He finally says with a smile.

"Wanna ditch?"

"Does Edge and Christian reek of awesomeness?"

3 Years Later.

"I swear shit never changes; Austin get your lazy ass up." Remy said looking at the man who smiles at his best friend.

"You know the drill; it's not us if we don't go through this every time.  Now this is where you say?" He questioned pointing to her.

"And you don't have a shirt, why do I bother?"

"Exactly and I say, be happy I have on pants. Unfortunately, I don't have my chips so we have to do without this time." He said standing up giving Remy a hug who seemed to fit right into him with a smile.  

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss this." She said hiding her face from him as his smile grew wider.

"I had a feeling you'd say that. I missed this too; but you know the rules better than I do." Austin said letting her go as he would hop on the counter top.

"You still in the doghouse I take it then?" She said looking over at him shaking her head going into the kitchen grabbing a freshly baked macadamia nut cookie being allergic to chocolate and what not.

"Hell yeah, boss lady hasn't spoken to me since Saturday and my ass is still on the couch. So any plans we had have been cancelled. " He said getting a smack in the back of the head. "Ow, what was that for?" Austin questioned glaring at Remy who stuck her tongue out at him.

"For being a slut and I was told to smack you in the head anyways.  Austin Joseph Blake; did you honestly believe that you were not going to hear from me?" Remy said putting a hand on her hip now playing disciplinary.

"Did you really have to call me by my full name? Calling me Austin is torture enough. I don't even care you called me a slut-"Remy cut him off.

"Because you are one; luckily for you, I still love you and so does she. We have to stick by you, it's kinda in our contracts.  She's been with you for three years; I unfortunately have been with you for 21 years."  Remy said dreading the last part thinking about her age.

"You don't look a day over 24" Austin said knowing that her birthday was just around the corner and that is how exactly old she would be.

"Not helping!"

"Hey, I didn't get into your height Gambit. You do look like you grew an inch or two, dreams do come true, oh wait you're wearing boots. I thought a Christmas miracle had happened."

"This is why your dog is getting more action than you. So you find out what you having yet or what?" Remy said sitting next to him grabbing another cookie.

"Well damn cookie monster; no not yet. I'm excited though."

"We can just mark it down as a pretty baby that takes after it's mother because that child will be screwed if it's after you." She teases. "That poor baby is going to come out with a comic book and think you spell awesome with a 'u' not to mention if it's a boy it's going to have a crazy fauxhawk.  At least your eyes are pretty. Come to think about it; it's mom is the evil Ice Queen so that baby is already doomed to be mean. The Ausome Ice baby!" She smiled at Austin nudging him in the arm.

"I swear if that wasn't funny I'd push you off right now.  Well whenever you have one, your baby is going to come out taller than you." Austin said laughing as Remy looked at him. "What's wrong?"

"It's funny because it's sad and true." She said scooting next to him as he held her.

"Just find a man taller than you; shouldn't be too hard."

"Thanks for that confidence booster; you're the best I mean it. Don't let the sarcasm fool you." She simply replied getting a kiss on the head.

"It's because I love you; I can't say that about many people. Don't get all sentimental on you or anything; but you do mean a lot to me. Without you, I would have lost my mind. You've always been there for me when no one else was. So for that, I love you from the bottom of my slutty heart." He smirks. "Just how you're there for me, I will always be there for you no matter. We're the closest thing to family. Hell, you're a sister I never had." He smiles at her as Remy wipes a tear.

"Aww, likewise Aussie, you should say things like that more. Makes a girl feel good, we like hearing things like that ya know?" She said hugging him trying her best not to cry. "That was beautiful."

"So are you, but that's a different story for another time."

"This is one of the many reasons I love you."

"I love me too." Austin replied with a smirk joking getting a smack in the head for his troubles. "Wouldn't have it any other way?"

"Not at all."

"Wanna get a slurpee?" He questioned hopping off the counter.

"Do you have to ask?"

"You paying?"

"Hell no." Remy responded as the two hit the door with a laugh.
